More To Find

In this short comic, I seek to capture the very real feeling of loss that someone can leave behind in another’s life. This piece has a particular focus on the painful yet quiet loss of someone close to you, suddenly someone you knew forever is another stranger in the world. While is it hard to focus on anything but the empty feeling they left behind, the other side of this work is the bright hope of knowing that there will be many more opportunities for connection and a world of people to meet. Many artists have likened a soul to a flame or light and that is how I chose to represent the people outside the main characters in this story, billions of light sources that losing someone can obscure. However, while one precious light may have been lost, it opens the door for many more to be found.
